Good landing pages ‘could beat the recession’ by Katherine Ferguson
A search expert has claimed that marketers should maximise the SEO on their landing pages of their websites to beat the recession.
Online marketers have been advised that the best way to beat the recession is by maximising search engine optimisation (SEO) on their website’s landing page.
Search Engine Land search expert Joanna Lord has claimed that website design aimed at boosting the productivity of an online campaign should focus predominantly on the first impression that customers are likely to get – the landing page.
While the internet is currently generating more traffic than ever, with consumers searching for services to assist them through the recession, now is the best time to catch on to the users, she explained.
“There has never been a better time to optimise your landing pages and tweak them for success,” Ms Lord added.
Landing pages should be targeted at “info-seeking audiences”, meaning that web designers should consider overhauling the entire page and starting from scratch – she suggested that big and bold gestures are more likely to pay off during recession.
But most importantly, she concluded, the new pages should be tested for SEO success before they are completed.
Meanwhile, speakers at a recent web design conference in Miami Beach, Florida, explained that one of the most important things for websites to do is to appeal to the customer on its landing page, this, Internet Retailer reported, will ultimately boost SEO and business.
