Lawyers and solicitors miss out on many new clients by not optimising their websites.
One leading lawyer gained more than 60% more visitors to its website by using SEO.
Law firms could increase their client base by adopting search engine optimisation (SEO) strategies.
This is according to Law.com, which claims that optimising a website and boosting search engine rankings increases the likelihood that potential clients will be drawn to the site.
High website ranking through SEO could also augment online advertising efforts, the website asserts.
For example, LexisNexis hired an SEO specialist in 2005, according to the firm’s senior director of traffic and alliances Nick Karratt.
Mr Karratt claimed that visits to the site increased by 62 per cent in the year between 2006 and 2007.
“SEO is kind of the holy grail of marketing,” said Brad Fallon, chief executive officer of Smart Marketing.
Microsoft announced last week that it is to invest millions of dollars into developing search technology.
